French Toast

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 12 thick slices bread

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour (optional) This gives it a restaurant-like texture. It is not pictured.

Blend the milk, salt, eggs and sugar with vanilla.

Cut the bread slices into triangles and soak them into this mixture.

Take oil in a frying pan and shallow fry on both sides. If you want to add cinnamon, sprinkle it on one side before turning it over.

Turn it over and brown on the other side.

Serve on its own or with whipped cream, bananas, berries or maple syrup.
