Channa Daal

3/4 cups Channa Daal
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
2 tbsp Golden fried onions
2 tbsp Diced tomatoes
1 tbsp Oil
1/2 Knorr Chicken Cube (Optional)


Wash and soak the Channa daal.



In a sauce pan, add the oil, fried onions and the diced tomatoes.







Simmer for a minute or two and add all the spices.



 Add 1/4 cup of water and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.



Add the Channa Daal and enough water to cover the daal in the sauce pan upto 1/2 inch


Add the chicken cube if you desire at this point.




Cover and cook on medium to low heat until the daal is tender. About half hour.






Garnish with Cilantro and serve with Naan / Bread
