1 pack of Tri-color Rotini Pasta
1/2 lb Qeema or equivalent of prepared Qeema from the freezer
If making Qeema from scratch, use 1/4 tsp each of Salt, Turmeric powder, Cumin powder, Chili powder, Paprika,1/2 cup fried onions and 1/2 cup petite diced tomatoes
1 cup chopped Cilantro
Boil the Rotini according to instructions on the box.
In the meanwhile chop a lot of Cilantro..Chop chop chop... Did I emphasize LOTS?
Once the pasta is Ala Dente, drain the water out and keep it aside.
Now I have this habit of *freezer cooking* the ground beef according to my favorite easy pezy recipe found HERE. So I simply take a pack of my prepared Qeema and defrost it. Makes my life (and now yours) so much easier! So next time when you cook the Qeema, double the recipe and stash a box away in the freezer for a future cooking extravaganza!
So what you do is rinse the Qeema out in a tiny-hole strainer under running water. In a skillet, add the oil and toss in the Qeema and all the rest of the ingredients(Salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, fried onions and diced tomatoes). Cook until all the water has absorbed and Qeema is cooked. How easy was that?
Now to that Qeema, add the cilantro and mix well.
Now take the pasta and add it to the Qeema..
And mix well so the Qeema goes well in the spirals of the pasta..
